Her second novel, set in 1885 in the same gorgeous Alaskan landscape as The Snow Child, follows Colonel Allen Forrester and his wife to military barracks in the far forlorn North.

Eowyn Ivey will be the guest speaker at Friends of the Library in Anchorage's annual meeting during Alaska Book Week at the Loussac Library's Ann Stevens Room. A reception will start at 5:30 p.m., with business meeting from 6 to 6:30 or 6:45, a break for wine and mingling, and Eowyn's reading beginning at 7 p.m.
